I got here in Hossegor last Wednesday and had some good wave that day and the following day. On friday it was too windy, Doud knew that it woul be less windy on saturday and sunday, but the swell is going down, so it'll be small on sunday. The only and good decision was to start and finish the contest on saturday.
65 contestants in the Open Category, 15 heats of 4, one heat of 5. It took place right on the "central" beach of Hossegor, where all the restaurant and bars are, so that was really convenient. Waves are ok in the beginning but it's a wind swell and the sand is kind of soft. First heats got some good tricks and barrels though, then the more it went the more the wind picks up from the right, it ended up a really strong north west wind giving advantage to Goofy footers.
Lots of friends from all over are showing up. People I haven't seen in so long, I am really happy to see and hang out for a week end. After work, my brother shows up, set his gear right on the beach and start spinning vinyls, killing it.
Doud got music breakfast and beer for everybody for free. It was a lot of fun, such a good time.
I wasn't able to take much pics as I was in the contest, but lots of people were taking pics, so I ll find some to post i'm sure.

It was such a good week end. Now I still have a week here, Doud wasn't abe to bring the Grinch for the contest, but we are going to use it very soon, probably thursday because the swell is gonna pick up.
