First day of the contest, lots of people, Diego had twice the amount of contestant than last year, so it is a success already! People came from all over Mexico, USA (CA, FL), France... Waves were really nice in the morning then the wind picked up but still was decent. Morgan Just, Brandon Rothe and I made it to the next round tomorrow. Really high level, locals have just even more improved, it s impressive, lots of them even have easily a good top professional level (Brandon and Morgan agree on this). On top of it they're all really nice and I have to say that there is one of the best vibe of all the contests I have been to. Also my brother is here and other friends from France made the move. Diego runs the contest really well helped with his brother Jorge and some good friends of his. Late afternoon Brandon went skimming, I grabbed the cam and got some good ones, then I got in the water and he shot some. I had one of my best frontside air stuck back in the wave. Brandon really didn't expect me to do so, so he kind of cut me off on the picture, but it makes it look artsy (according to him). tomorrow heats first thing in the morning to make sure we get glassy waves.
